DPC Developments, LLC, referred to in this policy as “we,” “our,” or “us,” operates the Big Brain mobile application, referred to as the “App.” This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your information when you use the App.
Content you provide to AI features. Big Brain study features are powered by artificial intelligence. When you use an AI feature, such as the AI Homework Helper, lecture recording and transcription, document analyzer, quiz and flashcard generation, notes to podcast, or the AI writing tools, the content you provide is sent to our servers and to third-party AI providers so we can generate your results. This content may include text and questions you type, photos you upload, lecture audio you record, and documents or notes you choose to analyze.
Uploaded files. Photos and audio you submit to AI features are uploaded to our secure cloud storage so they can be processed and so your results can be returned to you.
Locally stored data. Study notes, flashcards, quiz results, achievements, and preferences are stored on your device. This data is not sent to our servers unless you submit it to an AI feature.
Usage data. We may collect anonymous usage and performance data to improve the App.
We use your information to provide the App’s AI-powered features and return your results, to process and store the photos, audio, and documents you submit to AI features, to manage your subscription, and to improve the App based on anonymous usage patterns.
To provide our AI features, the content you submit may be shared with the following third-party services. Each provider processes your data under its own privacy policy and does not use it to advertise to you.
Google (Gemini) and OpenAI process the text, photos, transcripts, and documents you submit to generate answers, summaries, quizzes, and flashcards. Data sent to these providers is not used to train their models and may be retained for a limited period for abuse monitoring.
OpenAI Whisper transcribes the lecture audio you record into text.
Microsoft Azure converts your notes into podcast audio through text-to-speech.
DuckDuckGo provides web search results for AI answers. Your search query text is sent, and no account information is shared.
Google AdMob serves advertisements to users on the free tier and may use a device advertising identifier. If you do not grant App Tracking Transparency permission, you are shown only non-personalized ads.
Apple App Store and Google Play Store handle subscription payments.
We ask for your permission inside the App before your content is first sent to third-party AI services.
We require each third-party service we share data with to provide the same or equal protection of your data as described in this policy.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information. Data transmitted between the App, our servers, and our providers is encrypted using HTTPS and TLS.
The App is intended for a general student audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Locally stored data such as notes, flashcards, and quizzes remains on your device until you delete the App or clear its data. Photos and audio you submit to AI features are stored on our cloud storage so the feature can process and return your results. Third-party AI providers may retain data you submit for a limited period under their own policies. To request deletion of uploaded content, contact us.
You may request access to or deletion of your personal data, opt out of non-essential communications, and delete locally stored data by clearing the App data or using the in-app Delete Account and Reset option.
Big Brain Pro is an auto-renewable subscription processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Payment is charged to your account at confirmation of purchase, and it renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel anytime in your device account settings.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time and will update the effective date shown above.
